I tie this on a jig hook & without the yellow legs. Tie brass eyes between the eye and the bend. It works great for shoal bass on the flint river. Throw it above the shoal and let the current drag it through the shoals. Fish typically hit it right below the shoal. It will imitate a fighting craw w/o claws so I’ve been told… I’ll also hop/drag it across deeper pools for bass. Also works well for redfish I found out!!!

Now.. you know someone's gonna see this and say "NO WAY!!.. YOU GOTTA REVERSE TIE THAT BUCKTAIL"... lol.. what are your thoughts on reverse tie vs stacking? It's certainly much easier to stack.

Nice fly! | am tying some similar to try this weekend before they close the upper Kenai river down to let the trout spawn on May 1st to June 11th. What is the benefit of reverse whip finish? I caught that right away because to me, it is odd.

Man you tie really nice flies!!! Wiggle hex nymphs are a steelhead staple!! Wish i knew of them sooner. You could make some money selling these like $4 a piece. I would buy a dozen quick!! Fish on my trib guys!!

Nice fly!! This is exactly the kinda thing thats been workin where im at on the lake Ontario tribs this february. The baby king salmon are getting into the rocks near bottom and the steelhead are plucking them off one by one! Hopefully one is my fly lol. I will take a dozen of those please!! Fish on!

His word gets dismissed by a lot of fly tyers because they don't look like your stylized streamers that you see on IG and stuff....but man do they catch fish.

Little suggestion, it would be amazing if you zoom into the fly while tying. Other than that Amazing fly pattern, definitely going to try some out

Great fly.

not pro tip. Use hair spray to help keep the fur out of the way while you tie it. Let the fur dry exactly perpendicular to the hide so it's easy to put the thread through the fur without it getting in the way.

Could add a CDC collar.
